I was thinking about this, and I’ve came to the conclusion that there may be other people who can make better use of ZonkPC LE and possibly make it better.

I’ll probably release it today to opensource distribution networks and let you know by a new post.

With this post I’d also like to mention that I’m also working on a new small app that also does something using time

ZonkPC is a small application I’ve made, for myself at first, when I couldn’t find one I like with same functionality. It’s purpose is to Shutdown/Restart/Logoff/Hibernate your PC after/at a given time. I made it because I didn’t want my PC running all night long when I went to sleep while listening to music.

This is the first publicly (more or less) available beta of ZonkPC. There are probably bugs which have yet to be eliminated. I’d like you to report them here if you will.

ZonkPC uses two fonts which are not available in Windows, so you must copy both to your Fonts folder.

Changes in b3410:
Since the preview I’ve added two more options to the setup screen: Force Action and Require Confirmation.
You can probably guess which one does what, but just in case:
Force Action: Forces the chosen action, which means programs will be closed by force, rather than save files first.
Require Confirmation: Displays a message when the time runs out asking whether you want to execute the chosen action or not.

ZonkPC Beta Preview

ZonkPC is a small app I started making mainly for myself, as I couldn’t find one I like.

The purpose of ZonkPC is to turn off your PC at/after a specified amount of time, so it doesn’t stay turned on through the night when I’m listening to music when going to sleep. It may however be used for other purposes.

I might add some scheduling support to it if I find it necessary.

Currently, it is still under development, but you can get a glimpse of it here.

Comments and ideas are most welcome, as you’re the ones (It’s not solely for myself, of course) who are going to use it.

First of all, thanks to my friend FuzzySp00n for letting me use his website to publish yet another instance of my blog, which has been closed many times before.

This time though I’m planning on using it more actively to publish both my studies in the game development scene as well as my other creations in the customization/etc scene.

Right now I’m not much of a game designer, but I’m planning to change that. I’m still not sure that is the direction my design career will go, but since I love both games and design I’ve figured it’s good to have some experience in that field as well.

Please forgive me for the unfinished blog design. I’ve decided not to use my Melonpress theme but rather go in a more simplistic approach, and so my theme is not yet finished.
